I will always be a fan of "welcome to work! we have sick days here but no one ever uses sick days."

@Thad calling in sick during covid was shifty. and we worked from home at the time.....

@PlaGeRaN i just remember my bosses (because why only have one in Japan?) sitting me in a room going over contract and saying "you have this many days for sick leave. but we don't use them. so you should not use them."
"what if i'm sick and can't come to work?"

"so we don't use sick leave. next up to explain is national holidays..."
