Not exactly related to the strip, but it reminded me of a recent article about parents using GameStop stores as daycare when they go shopping at the mall. https://kotaku.com/gamestop-daycare-mario-kart-switch-babysitter-meme-1849565530
In Australia, the EB Games and Ikea stores used to have gaming stations setup, but over the past 10 years they stopped that because of this problem.

@JayAndWei - In Denmark Ikea set up "gaming" stations (very low tech "games" suitable for kids up to perhaps school age) specifically to occupy the kids when mom and dad were looking at boring kitchens or closets. Eventually, they actually made an actual playland inside the Ikea closest to me, where you could drop off your kids on arrival and pick them up at the exit.
I tend to think it has increased their sales ;)
@Casper, yes they have that kids creche at ours too. It looks really cool, though I think it has been suspended since the pandemic started. I've only been to Ikea a couple of times since the beginning of 2020, and the creche has been shut every time.
I'm now ordering those meatballs and lingonberries online anyways.
