@psybite - Most of north east asia, and yes, Japanese people too. But, you know, the superior nation of Japan's government does not find it bad at all, since they did nothing wrong (If you ask them). For everyone else, it stands for genocide, rape, and all those other nice things.
The japanese national anthem is probably the most depressing anthem i've ever heard.
i worked at a place that played it before ever function and the recording they had was probably from the war... it was horrific and sad.
@Thad - I think all Japanese people are goth inside, and a bit Emo. They want to suffer, they want to be depressed, they want to follow the stream like all the other dead fish.. maybe? :)

@Madsen - I never learned as many idioms for "don't do anything against the grain" as quickly as I did there. They have so many phrases for "just sit down and shut up". it's no wonder when women realized they don't have to be subservient to the men that the country went into a panic
My favourite stories are the ones about females preferring dogs to men and the fear of plummeting birthrates because they're not marrying the asshole guys while the Japanese male population does absolutely nothing about it:
