Since the japanese enjoy raw fish and natto, they might like it.
Limpan - You would think.. also, it remains to be seen. T minus 6 hours :)
"Kusaya (くさや) is a Japanese style salted, dried and fermented fish..similar to the fermented Swedish herring surströmming."

@cceddie - Similar, but smell-wise, not even close :)
I am Korean (not japanese), so have had my share of 'weird' food. Are you saying that surströmming (which I have never had) is a level up on Asian weird food?!
I think we have a new drinking game where each country brings a food and a shot of local alcohol. Last one standing wins. Once this covid nonsense is over, you up for a game?
:)
@cceddie - It's a level up. We just had it, and it is not pleasant :) Also, GAME ON!
my payback for being given natto and uni was to make them drink a Mountain Dew and I probably gave them diabetes
@mr.madsen, you are on!
No to figure out a way to get smelly food and too much alcohol across international borders w/o getting thrown in airport jail...
Surströmming is definitely a level up on weird Asian food (and I'm not Swedish). Iceland takes it to another level though with Hákarl (not Icelandic either).
@kazper I had Harkarl when I visited Iceland and found it to be fine. Much like a (very) strong, soft cheese. That said, I was the only one at the table who had more than one piece of it.
@Tadso - American justice!
@cceddie - Looking forward to it :)
@Kazper - I'll need to try that! :D
