Living in the US, but with a Dutch wife, we sort of have an out. We could move to the Netherlands (and I think it could be better for the kids, actually). But we'll stay put no matter what.
PapaVanTwee - I guess, that's how it is. When you've started the fam, it's not something you do easily. I might be moving countries, but that's BEFORE we start having kids, just so we don't get stuck in Sweden :)
I called it in 2016 and am calling it again. Trump wins because the Democrats won't put up a competent opponent.

PapaVanTwee - I can highly recommend this video comparing suburbia (Canada in this instance but it's not that different from US suburbia) and the Netherlands when raising kids.

US is not heading an a good direction anytime soon so the kids, and you, would probably be better off in the Netherlands.
