I wonder.. Why did you start with faith in humanity, despite http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Lai_Massacre, only to lose it a few weeks ago?
Should I pick another example? The list is endless. Human written history starts with a heritage of massacres. And it kept going. If anything: it seems to taper off a bit, the last few decades.
