Anyway, remember the actual jail time sentence was less than that of any violent crime. The fine was calculated from how much the industries lost (which is bullshit, because you can't calculate that with any exactness whatsoever). It's still dumb as hell, considering what the piratebay did is as much a crime as what google does. "Assisting copyright infringement"? If providing links to a source where copyrighted material is downloaded, which is what the TPB did, then every newspaper, search engine and plenty of blogs are highly illegal.
Im not seeing how murder and rape is anywhere less fucked up than pirating music or movies. if you believe that then you have serious moral issues.
I believe I would rather run the pirate bay then rape and murder children. Nice try but seriously this sucks.

Putting a price on murder or rape is weird to say the least. But that's what courts of justice often do. Society is impotent to compensate victims of crimes -or those who are left behind- in any other way.
Given that situation, it's just a matter of haggling over the price.
I'm saving my money to rape a teen in Sweden.

Sweden IS one of the leading countries in human rights, which is why they held so long. But they are only one small country, and everyone has a limit to how much bullying they can take.

Since when did LAW make sense....That Somalian pirate teen ( I love how they refuse to say islamic, or terrorist and such) that was attempting to blow up that tree lighting in Oregon is looking at life in prison and $250,000 fine....If I were to grow one pot plant in the state I live in I am looking at life in prison and a $250,000 fine? punishment fitting the crime how?
