Oh trust me, I know. In Japan, the police all train in martial arts, and drawing their gun as a last resort. I think almost any one of them could win a fist fight with any one of our police hands down. The criminal element most often has a knife or some other weapon of the sort.
What we have in the USA is by no means perfect, and like I said, being from California with very strict gun laws to New Mexico, with the opposite was very strange. Still, not everyone who owns or even carries a gun is a criminal. The fact that one disturbed individual took a series of guns into a zone regulated by the police as a 'no gun zone' does not mean everyone else in America is a potential gun toting psychopath.

As I said before, it's something to think about. Disturbing, absolutely. Still something to think about. I just don't think the solution to the problem is as simple as making guns illegal in more places, that's all.

@Miles: well, yeah. In the EU, going around packed means you're either criminal with intent or a police officer. In the UK, not even the latter. A bobby carries nothing but a stick or maybe mace.
Wish you luck.

Good luck! Been following this here webcomic for a really really long time.
I just wanted to say, some jackhole tried to do another school shooting here in New Mexico back in June... it didn't get huge press or anything, because New Mexico is like the freakin' Wild West... people would walk into the convenience store where I worked with a six shooter on their hip, and it was not only legal, but okay and even NORMAL (weird for me, though). Anyway, the wannabe school shooter was himself shot before hurting more than two people.

Gives you something to think about. =\
