If you want to spend some time digging: I remember being in fits of laughter over the sms updates from teams in the early Mongol rallies (08, 09, I guess). Will perhaps give you a better feeling for the rally than the more polished long blogs of recent years. Freely quoting my all-time-classic: “To the idiot who just passed us: if you see a car standing with an open hood in the middle of the desert during night and people are waving frantically, there is no need to stop. Fuck you!” (Or something like that. Has been years…)
