sweden = rapist paradise?
November 29th, 2010 at 6:41 pm
Well, you WILL probably get beat up during your entire prisonstay for conducting the first two… :P
November 29th, 2010 at 7:31 pm
aka running piratebay is as bad as killing almost 600 kids? or raping about 940?
I guess killing 600/raping 940 before getting caught would be a pretty impressive achievement. Imagine the headlines?
November 29th, 2010 at 9:12 pm
Heh, guess they didn’t see that one come… Well, I think they deserved it, but of cause it should be just as expensive, or twice or triple as expensive to kill or rape a child…

The comment above is retarded.
Anyway, remember the actual jail time sentence was less than that of any violent crime. The fine was calculated from how much the industries lost (which is bullshit, because you can’t calculate that with any exactness whatsoever). It’s still dumb as hell, considering what the piratebay did is as much a crime as what google does. “Assisting copyright infringement”? If providing links to a source where copyrighted material is downloaded, which is what the TPB did, then every newspaper, search engine and plenty of blogs are highly illegal.

Im not seeing how murder and rape is anywhere less fucked up than pirating music or movies. if you believe that then you have serious moral issues.
November 30th, 2010 at 2:07 am
I believe I would rather run the pirate bay then rape and murder children. Nice try but seriously this sucks.

Putting a price on murder or rape is weird to say the least. But that’s what courts of justice often do. Society is impotent to compensate victims of crimes -or those who are left behind- in any other way.
Given that situation, it’s just a matter of haggling over the price.

I’m saving my money to rape a teen in Sweden.
I can’t afford more…
November 30th, 2010 at 5:17 pm
Worst part being that Sweden is considered one of the leading countries in Human Rights and justice… bleh :S
November 30th, 2010 at 5:37 pm
Sweden IS one of the leading countries in human rights, which is why they held so long. But they are only one small country, and everyone has a limit to how much bullying they can take.
With most of the world brainwashed into believing that pirating equals stealing, the Swedish had the global opinion against them, in addition to some huge and greedy companies.

Leave it to a political system to get it all fucked up.
LArs: För att generalisera behöver man inte kolla grundfakta, inte heller för att försöka vara rolig.. tycker jag i alla fall. Däremot om man skriver för någon tidning, eller utger sig för att propagera sanningar.. något jag absolut inte gör. The future lies in missinformation.

…the guy who runs america and the guy who runs sweden probably saw that and high fived somewhere in the world…

What is the fine for comparing rape and murder to Media Piracy.
Someone did not think this one through obviously.
nickDecember 1st, 2010 at 6:29 pm
You know why, right? There’s no profit to be wrung out of not raping or murdering kids. But there is gobs and gobs and gobs and GOBS of fucking profit to be wrung out of endlessly reselling us the same content in different media.
nickDecember 1st, 2010 at 6:32 pm
After I posted, I noticed this “All rights reserved. Use your common sense, please. Pretty please. Do not steal this shit. Mary had a little lamb.” which makes your support of piratebay just a touch ironic.
Perhaps you should change that to something like “share, redistribute and repost as much as you like, just don’t try to claim authorship of the content”?

Since when did LAW make sense….That Somalian pirate teen ( I love how they refuse to say islamic, or terrorist and such) that was attempting to blow up that tree lighting in Oregon is looking at life in prison and $250,000 fine….If I were to grow one pot plant in the state I live in I am looking at life in prison and a $250,000 fine? punishment fitting the crime how?
