I love it how everytime i approched my space limit on Hotmail Microsoft would rase the bar by another Gig or two so i would never have to purchase the “Premium” account. lol

Hotmail is definitely a deal breaker. Problem is it’s really hard to get people to move over due to the work involved. (I’d suggest doing it for them.)

I’m perfectly happy with a pc, XP, the providers email and Gmail. But then I’m not hardcore, just a user. Outlook beats Gmail for clear layout though.

It almost sounds like just because you are Linux users you can’t use Hotmail, but all the dists perhaps have a built in block for Hotmail?! What do I know! I’m just a simple Windows user myself =P

@Ory’hara. Is it fairly decent hardware or a really old box? I’d go Ubuntu in the first case and Xubuntu in the second. If it’s a REALLY ANCIENT PRIMORDIAL computer, then try Puppy Linux or DamnSmallLinux.

oh man , i actually “lol”led on this one ! i haaaaate Hotmail and IE for that matter. And the two are a perfect match. If hotmail would be a person, he’d definitly be using IE6 or previous.

I’m an IE user and a Hotmail user (My e-mail turns 11 this year!)…..I guess it’s a miracle I haven’t been banned from here

I’ve stuck with Gmail for the last 2 years. Sooo glad I got off the hotmail bandwagon, especially when my password and Q&A got corrupted, leaving my account completely inaccessible(one of several reasons for leaving).

@Salvatore Iovene: Got me a Gentoo 2.4.25-r8 bootable and nicely running with most hardware supported (fun little project, trying to get a Gentoo system up from scratch and still trying to streamline it :S).

HEY! I’ve used one hotmail account for the past 9 years. I *HAD* a Gmail account but they deleted it. Hotmail has so far, not even touched my email account. It is the only thing that microsoft HASN’T screwed up with.

But that doesn’t mean I forgive them! Ohno, it just means that if they screw hotmail up as well, there will be a hostile takeover of microsoft…… VERY HOSTILE!!

Lol, that’s so true. My gf used to use Windows, but switched to Linux a few months after we hooked up. She’s never booted Windows ever since.
