This comic was one of the most touching things I’ve seen today. I really hope things will start to go better now. Together with Madsen’s rant this convinced me to write something on my blog (sorry, it’s in Dutch. use babelfish or something :P ) about what just happened. Indeed, America did win, and hopefully with that everyone else as well.

We *ahem* HOPE America won. Democratic majority in everything, let’s hope we all still have our rights after 4 years.
Think I’m being paranoid? Look how close D.C v. Heller came to losing.
November 5th, 2008 at 2:59 pm
I must agree, when you look at many members of the Democratic party, they’re not better than the Republicans.
– in areas like foreign wars (there are falcons in every party, mrs clinton supported every point Bush wanted),
– cutting peoples rights for their own paranoia, (Quantanamo Bay still exists, even with a democratic majority in congress for the last YEARS!!!)
– even things like copy-right issues (Biden for example is an absolute on the record and movie industries side).
I dont like it to destroy illusions, but the romantic view the European politics have about the American system needs to be filled with some damn reality.
We will see if Obama does a good job or if this will be just a rerun of the Clinton-politics.
American won with Bush out of the WhiteHouse even the old man would have been better than the lunatic from Texas.

thank god…us Americans did something right for once!!
November 5th, 2008 at 6:43 pm
probably the worst little gamers comic i’ve seen so far, sorry to say that. pure unreflected european kitsch. although, parts of me are still hoping it was meant sarcastical.
November 5th, 2008 at 7:28 pm
@kpala_tret: then the rest of us in the Americas (as in CONTINENT) have our perception in the wrong place too. You have to remember that the policies that the US government approves do not only affect it’s country’s population, but the rest of the world as well. Think about it that way, if your government fucks up, most of the rest of the world does too, without being able to do anything about it
November 5th, 2008 at 7:40 pm
Thank you, Little Gamers. :)
I would love to see this as a poster!
November 5th, 2008 at 7:51 pm
I hope you are right, but I have my doubts. I am glad that the American society has evolved beyond letting race stop a man from being elected, however I am ashamed that according to some polls, his race is what got the man elected. I hope he does well, and I wish the best for his presidency, but I worry that without any checks or balances that were designed in the system he will basically have a free reign. A three part government consisting of multiple parties is what works best, since people have to come to a consensus across party lines instead of pressing one idea through without resistance. I just pray that he proves my worries to be without reason

cautiously optimistic — all i know is that when i went to vote at local school yesterday, say 2 employees raising the american flag and — for the first time since nov. 22, 1964 (when i was 16 years old), i felt proud to be an american. just because i could finally vote for someone i respected and in whom i dared to place confidence and who actually stood a chance of winning…even tho’ i didn’t dare to believe he would. i hope last night proves to be a victory for our planet, which has suffered so much, and for ALL its people. and the polar bears.

oops, i’m so old i can’t even get my dates right – meant nov. 22, 1963, when i was 17. duh.
November 5th, 2008 at 8:10 pm
Sorry, but that is pathetic. Americans already see us europeans as socialistfags because of our Obamamania…
is that the unintelligent version of Guantanamo Bay? AKA GTMO.

Grats to all Americans from their canadian neigthboors!
November 6th, 2008 at 2:41 am
We did indeed man.
I’m only sixteen, so to be honest, I have never been alive for a government I supported.
I don’t even know what to think.
November 6th, 2008 at 5:49 am
I’m a proud United States Marine. I understand that Obama is a good politician with great ideals. But the fact that for what my friends and family were killed for overseas, he calls a mistake and is going to pull us out of Iraq ASAP and leave the Iraqis with a weakened government that’ll be easy for the Iranians and extremists to attack is a slap in my face. If Iraq was a mistake, then why did we die for it. Many Americans may believe it to be a mistake. But the people of Iraq still thank us everyday for saving their lives from dictatorship and ensuring a future for their children.
November 6th, 2008 at 7:33 am
Hillary is still a Democrat, and Hillary still hates gamers. The lesser of two evils won and hopefully it’ll learn from the other’s mistakes.
November 6th, 2008 at 10:52 am
PhoeniXYZ: “Socialistfags”? No, ‘Balmy’s voters are also responsible for banning gay marriage in three states tuesday. Yes, broken down by race. So any “socialistfags” with “Obamamania” in those states must be especially… inattentive. Or just socialists.

If we stand up to them all together
as one, we can win the day!
We shall go on to the end. We shall not flag or fail. We shall fight on the seas and oceans. We shall defend our isle, whatever the cost may be. We shall never surrender.
Then they shall say of us:
“Never have so many
owed so much to so few.”

@Michael: if you’re worried about europeans having romantic notions about american politics, relax! We don’t.
@HB: Or better still, the Internationale? ;-)
November 6th, 2008 at 6:18 pm
I didn’t want Obama, I wanted David Palmer :P
November 7th, 2008 at 4:05 pm
Obama wont change much.
Ilegal detention areas overseas all over tge world still exist, no will to remove them, etc.
And i don’t thinks most iraquis are thanking anything to the intervention. The american TV has mild censorship and government control of what the show and want you to see.
I live on other country, and I saw documentarys that show iraquis saying “We were better off with Hussein, at least he gave us water”! It was from a town dying of thirst because the water suply was cut due to the american invasion.
That withput counting countless war crimes like sexualy abusing prisioners and civilians, stagged them on colossal piles on naked bodies, torture, etc…
November 7th, 2008 at 6:44 pm
I’m for Obama, but I’m gonna wait with the jubilee until his first period is over.
November 7th, 2008 at 7:43 pm
This is the 1st and last of this comic that I have seen and will see. Your failure to comprehend what has happened has lost you myself as a viewer, and anyone else I know. This man only won because of his race, and If you think me a racist for thinking that, then you should look closer at the situation and the people involved. The US is now controled by people that hate the country, want to see our freedom taken from us, and our money placed in their hands for their purposes, not ours. They want to rewrite the constitution that has served as the foundation for this great country, and disassemble what our forefathers have built for us. The fact that he STILL won only shows that there are too many rich people who are sick of Bush, and too many “poor” people looking for a hand-out. Frankly, I am disgusted at your thoughts and your comic. Lastly, Ron Paul is -the- only person fit for the job of President of the United States.
Ron Paul? Serious? :)
.. oh well, sad to see you go so fast, but then again, it this comic is nothing you like, it makes perfect sense to not read it anymore. :)
November 8th, 2008 at 6:32 am
I agree with piez! Obama is going to help the niggers (13% of the population) overthrow the real Americans (87%) with the help of the fags (100% of liberals) and the illegal immigrants (42.346%)! And on top of that he’s a soviet red commie-fuck! I know a guy who totally saw him at a Neo-Soviet meeting. Plus, I heard he’s Pro-Child Molester. Way to drop the balls America!
November 9th, 2008 at 1:55 am
VeC, about the “soviet red commie-fuck” comment… Obama is waaaay right-wing in politics compared to for example the Swedish social democrats…
November 9th, 2008 at 2:41 am
Tch, piez should get a brain in it’s head. The American Constitution went out the window years ago. Remember a little thing called the Patriot Act?
Personally, I hope (and believe) that Obama will be a good president. And if he’s not, what’s changed? The people US citizens are choosing to lead themselves have been pathetic leaders. America has long overstepped it’s bounds for decades.
November 9th, 2008 at 4:07 pm
Yowza. What is it with a chatbox and it’s ability to draw fanatical ranters?
I think VeC was being sarcastic. The pro molesting thing kinda gives it away. As a black man in americ,a if anybody even SUSPECTED he was a fiddler of the kiddies he would have been taken away by men dressed in robes and wizard hats made out of bedsheets and crucified upside down before being set on fire.
In terms of domestic policy, it’s going to be quite a change from the old Bush regeime, but we’ll see what happens now Barrak (sp?) has been briefed on the classified: top secret stuff by the CIA and other departments. baring in mind It’s early days yet, the guy doesn’t even take up the job until January.
Personally, as a non-States resident I’m more concerned that the economy gets cleared up soon. Paying £3 for a loaf of bread and a bottle of milk is really pissing me off >_<”
As for the “America Won” comment, surely just getting Bush out of the Oral Office is win enough?
November 10th, 2008 at 10:46 am
I hope you meant Oval Office…
KeiichiNovember 10th, 2008 at 11:30 pm
America? Hell with that.
The WORLD won.
November 11th, 2008 at 7:55 pm
@Legendaryratboy No no… I stand by what I said. “Oral”. it’s a Clinton joke, you see. A Pun, or a play on words.
November 16th, 2008 at 5:59 am
@Otaku_Bob22: Thanking you with bombs, I assume? lolwut.
November 25th, 2008 at 5:34 am
I’m a little late on the uptake, I know. If you make this into a poster, I will buy it. I will hang it in my room next to my yard sign. Driving two hours from school, waiting in line two more, and then going back to vote for Obama in my first presidential election was one of my happiest days in a long, long time. Incredible.
also@that one guy: No one I knew looked down on Europe for wanting Obama to win. I was so busy ignoring my neighbors’ glares and having my classmates tell me I was just jealous of Palin because she was hot to call Europe names in my head. T_T
December 2nd, 2008 at 5:28 pm
Why are people saying that this was the single greatest thing to happen in american history?! this man was a hack, a liar, and a traitor at that. he shouldn’t be hailed as a hero! he should have lost! besides, there are so many other things in history FAR mor significant than a “black man being elected” who the fuck cares?!
December 9th, 2008 at 10:46 pm
@ Alex – and you’re saying that the opposition was any better? most people in politics have told numerous lies. you can’t single one man out like that.
and yes, id say that a “black man being elected” is one of the most important things that has ever happened for the american equal rights movement. awarding equal rights is one thing, having the country view it as ‘right’ is entirely different. please, next time, take a look outside your box before you speak
