Well I guess that makes Nazism, Communism Socialism and Capitalism (and Feudalism) religions. I mean come off it most wars have always been for economic or expansionist reasons - some king or ruler wants to make their country bigger. Most countries have gone to war because they "could" - they stood to gain from winning. What about civil wars? What about WW1&2.. Hitler and Stalin weren't too religious =). Just about the only purely religious wars in Europe were the crusades - and then you can't call those purely religious since they were often attempts to stop the Turkish invasion and are more complicated.

Ok, thats a bit serious I'm saying that atheists are just as bad as religious leaders in violence.
Kings of England invading the holy land and suicide bombers killing innocents happens as well but atheists shouldnt be all high and mighty thinking that there way is better and that they are superior.
Religious leaders are dangerous as they can convince members of a religion that certain things are justified even if it goes against the teachings of that religion.
Atheist leaders are dangerous as they don't believe in any higher power or any moral consequnces for their actions and being as they answer to nobody on this earth they do as they please and that also results in wars and death.

Atheists have no morals? really? I'm an atheist and i don't believe im superior to those of faith. I'd also like it pointed out that hitler was raised a roman catholic and was like stalin and pol pot a meglomaniac you can't judge a group of people by their worst otherwise we'd all lose out to the scientologists.
Of course Athiests have morals.. a religion doesn't make you more or less moral.. just gives you an ethical/theological basis to form your morals on.

We've already got a war going on here in this forum just because of a little comic, you wankers. Its all fun and games till someone gets some explosives isn't it! Someone mentions politics and religion and you get people (not all of you I must say!) get on the defensive marking out their lines. Why can't we all agree that humans with any desire for power, be it religious or political, are by their very nature greedy megalomaniacal nutjobs that will hunt, kill and stab stab stab till they get the power they crave, and as such the entire human race is doomed, as is this planet, and we can all get back to reading the irreverant but not always irrelevant funnies of little-gamers to distract ourselves from the fact that the real world is not a place I would chose to live in if I had any choice. The next person to say something serious or getting all sensitive about the issue please poke yourself in the eye, or murder yourself with spoons, unless that would make you a martyr in which case just stuff em up your ass! K? Thx!
By the way, despite the angry tone of my message it is not meant to be taken too serioulsly - I'm an apathetic person so don't really get involved in issues - and apathetic people don't start wars - too much effort!
He he, this happens lots in web discussions and blogs - one guy makes a serious comment, annoys someone, who makes a spirited reply, which annoys everyone, because he's taking it too seriously and in the end its a mess. Pretty much like how wars are started.
I know, and now I've become one of them - Arrrggghhhhhhh! Its pretty therapeutic though. I was having a shitty day at work (can you tell!) and now I feel cleansed!
Yes, the world is shitty and it will continue to be shitty. But it would be less shitty without religion since it gets in the way of science, common sense, rational thinking and modern life.

ya know, in my neighbourhood 25.2% have no religion, next is catholic with 22%..feel free the visit the northern suburbs of south Australia... if you can find it. its a pretty boring place. lol.
