in his defence it makes sense to spell paid that way because usually when you alter the tense of something into past you do so with ed.
@Danners: dude, they're kind enough to write it in English whilst they could be saving themselves some trouble and post it in Swedish to begin with. Plus, the misspellings are sort of a gag here... (look at the disclaimers on the books).
